Dr. Zahir A. Khokhar is among a handful of dentists who hold dual degrees in two specialties in dentistry: periodontics and prosthodontics, two of the eight specialties in dentistry recognized by the American Dental Association. He holds specialty permits from the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry for periodontics, prosthodontics as well as Enteral Conscious Sedation. He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy, and then received his Master of Science Degree (MS) in the specialty of prosthodontics from the University of Michigan. Subsequently, he received a Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and a second Master Degree in Health Sciences (MHS) from the Medical University of South Carolina. This is a rare and prestigious accomplishment enabling him to provide patients with a one stop diagnosis and treatment in one office.

He spent many additional years beyond dental school to specialize in these fields.
